Herniated Disc Surgery
what are the rules the doctors give you after herniated disc surgery? Do you have to stay in bed for awhile?
My fiance is about to have this surgery and I want to know what I should expect.
He will spend a lot of time sitting up and laying down but he must get up and start light walking asap. He will be pretty sore for a few days and the pain meds will sedate him for 3 -5 days. After about 2 weeks he can start to try and see what he can and cannot do. His body will let him know.
Make sure to drink plenty of water with the pain meds and don’t take more than the dosage stated no matter what. If the pain medication doesn’t relieve the pain call the doctor and ask him for help.
