Treatment Herniated Disc L5 S1

Did anyone got treatment for herniated disc’s by ozone therapy. Please share your experiences.?

I got herniated disc’s in L4-L5 and L5-S1 and i had gone to physical Therapy and Chiropractor and already took epidural injection once and i am going to take another one tommorow. I was reading online about Ozone Therapy that is practised mostly in European countries and India. There are different methods like discosan mentod, Verga Method and ozonenucleosis in india. I am interested in trying the ozone therapy.

There are many articles on internet very less feedback from actual patients. If you have got treated with some kind of Ozone Therapy for herniated disc then please share your experience about the recovery and after therapy life. Did the disc’s got healed completely?

“Ozone therapy” is one of the latest scams out there.

If it worked, then you’d be offered this in hospitals or by your doctor. There is absolutely no evidence that it has any benefits whatsoever.

Don’t get conned; consult a properly qualified medical doctor or specialist.

Herniated Disc Disease

herniated disc disease
I have both degenerative disk disease as well as a herniated disk. Some days are worse than others.?

I have had the steroid injections, I have been through physical therapy, and I take the medications that are given to me. I have seen two seperate neurosurgeons and they keep sending me for MRI and X-rays. Then they say it isn’t surgicially necessary at this time. But my question is how do they know when it is time if they aren’t the ones in pain? Is anyone in the same boat that I am? And who wants to get addicted to Vicodin and Soma and still not get relief.

The problem is that findings on MRIs and x-rays do not specifically tell who will respond well to surgery and who won’t. Rather, mechanical presentations if they have a certain predictability tend to give better results. The subjective amount of pain is unreliable is well.

The best outcomes of surgery tend to be when there is focal nerve compression that results in a corresponding loss of the nerve’s functioning.

…otherwise, its a crap shoot. When surgery is involved, you never want to make it a crap shoot.

My question to you would be what did you do in physical therapy? How long did you go/how many courses of PT have you had. There may be more speicifc suggestions I can make to you if you have not had certain types of physical therapy.

Cervical disk disease, herniated disk & nerves involved.

Upper Back Pain Breathing Problems

upper back pain breathing problems
pain in upper back on right side by shoulder blade…hurts when i breathe or move in certain ways?

I am a highschool baseball player and this just started getting bad after my game yesterday, i do throw with my right arm and i was just wondering if this could be a muscle strain or pull or tear or something or if it is a problem with my right lung, i do have asthma by the way. Sometimes it hurts when i breathe but sometimes it doesn’t and it hurts the most when i am laying on my back or stomach and i try to move my upper body.
I have a baseball game in about 2 hours so I need to figure this out, also if you could give some temporary pain relievers that would help too.
thanks dismalrelic, that sounds exactly like what i got, and the rotator cuff would make sense because i am a baseball player and i throw a lot, im gonna have the trainer look at it and ill take some motrin or something after that, do you think ice would help?

I just had that happen to me.I went to the doctor and it was a muscle strain underneath my shoulder blade in the area of my rotater cuff. They just gave me some ibuprofen and said that my muscle was swollen and that would take care of it.It also caused pain when I would breathe,in my upper back and also my chest. So try the Ibuprofen,it should help you but it could take a few days for the swelling to go down if your muscle is swollen. He also said to take it easy on my arm for a few days.

Cramps, Back pain, Nausea, Missed Period, but negative pregnancy tests!?

Please help! I;m having bad cramps, lower back pain, I get nausea throughout the day, and I’m 2 weeks late but two pee tests and a blood test all came back negative for pregnancy. What could it be!? It’s been like this for two weeks and I’m absolutely miserable.

I would suggest getting it checked by an ob/gyn. The store bought tests are not always acurate. You could have been lucky enough to grab 2 bad tests!

Herniated Disc And Running

herniated disc and running
Back pain, Herniated disc healing?

I’m 15 years old and I suspect a herniated disc.
About 2 months ago, I started working out again. (I took a 6 month break.)
Anyways, I used to always run outside, but certain conditions made it impossible and I had to use a treadmill.
I started to notice lower back pain, but ignored it.
Now it gradually increases, I did my research and suspect a herniated disc.
I plan on seeing a doctor soon after I get insurance.
I play soccer for my school, and I really do need a full recovery.
Anyways, I’d like to know the fastest way to recover:
Light exercise,
No exercise, just rest (which seemed to have worked previously on lower back pain.)
Or any alternatives.
One more thing:
Why is it when I run on concrete I get no back pain, but on a treadmill I do get lower back pain, if the treadmill “cushions” inpact?

don’t exersize don’t do anything go straight to the doctor it could get bad and you could get hurt even worse.

running while pants fall down..= interesting

Herniated Disc Pain Treatment

herniated disc pain treatment
I have a herniated disk in my neck……?

I am currently at the end of a steriod treatment for a herniated cervical disk (neck). I have one more day of steroid pills to take. The pain has improved but not gone. Now, when I walk, I can feel and clearly hear a popping in my back. First I thought it was when my arms moved while walking, but when I kept my arms still, the popping still occurrs. This is really freaking me out. So, does anyone know the next step as far as this herniated disk goes (still pain) and does anyone know what the heck this popping noise in my back is????

What you are hearing is called crepitus. This is a result of the bones of the vertebrae rubbing together. This happens as the size of the disc shrinks thereby allowing the vertebrae to come into contact with each other. The best solution for you is to get a referral to a physical therapist now. They will work with you on strengthening the neck and back, improving posture which is such an important part of controlling this, and pain management. Relaxation of the muscles will help but it is not going to stop this problem. The muscles are capable of getting stronger and carrying the load of your head which is anywhere between twelve to sixteen pounds. As one ages these muscles get weaker and allow more stress to the disc. Posture becomes important as one moves away from the normal then the stresses increase on the disc. So the sooner you are in a program the quicker the recovery is going to be.

Herniated Disc C3 C4

herniated disc c3 c4
c3/c4 disk neck injury?

I have a small c3/c4 bulge in my neck. One test shown it was bulged and the Ct scan said herniated is there a diffrence? I fell and they took a CT scan and said it was already there beofr I fell. Can they tell how old it is and why am I NOW HAVING PAIN

The best way to describe the difference between a herniation and bulge is like this, you have vertebrae that are hard bone. Inbtween is a soft “jelly donut” like membrane. When you have a bulge the “jelly donut” is being squeezed between your vertebrae and causes it to protrude. A herniation is when the “jelly” actually is expelled from the membrane. The jelly is the nucleus. What happens it is can push on the membrane that protects your spinal cord and sometimes causes impingement if the pressure is too great. It is difficult to determine how old a herniation or bulge is, but an MRI could show degenerative changes such as bone spurs and osteophytes and other things that may be contributing to your condition.

Herniated Disc Flare Up

herniated disc flare up
where do I go now for medical help?

I am a 21 year old male. For the past year I have had chronic abdominal pain/ pelvic and groin pain, and back pain all confined to the left side. I have been to tons of specialist and the only thing found was a slight herniated disc that they didn’t think was causing my pain. This week I went to the doctor again when the pain flared up really bad. I am running a slight fever but not sick other than the pain. The doctors all seem to think its not a big deal. I don’t know where to go next. something isn’t right but I have already seen numerous specialist and no one can find what is causing this pain.
